  Overview

COMMELL's LE-540 is an industrial embedded single board computer based on NS Geode platform, provides the 300 MHz of computing capacity at the low power, embedded, x86-compliant architecture for the industrial embedded computers.

With NS Geode GX1 platform and high integration, COMMELL's LE-540 offers the value embedded computing platform for low power, low profile, fan free, mobile industrial applied computing applications based on the industrial standard 5.25" drive size EBX form factor. The onboard SDRAM, low power consumption, low profile and high integration make LE-540 be the ideal solution for industrial embedded applications with the features as below.

• Low Power Embedded Computing Platform : based on NS Geode x86-compliant architecture, the LE-540 offers the 300 MHz of speed at ultra low power for embedded / fan free computing platform.

• Onboard Memory and Low Profile SO-DIMM : The onboard 64 Mbytes offers the standard system memory. The SO-DIMM sockets support up to 256 MBytes of extensive memory capacity for space-saving, low profile embedded application. 

• LVDS/TTL Flat Panel Interface : The integrated TTL and optional LVDS interface offers the digital video output for flat panel with built-in VGA controller and 4 MB video memory. 

• Multiple I/O Ports : The onboard three RS-232 (COM1/3/4) and one jumper selectable RS-232/422/485 (COM2) serial ports and the 8-bit GPIO (4-bit TTL DI and 4-bit TTL DO) port make LE-540 be the ideal solution for POS application with multiple serial based devices.

• Solid State Disk Interface : The LE-540 is integrated with 32-pin DIP DiskOnChip socket, supports M-systems DiskOnChip up to 1 GBytes of flash memory capacity. The onboard 44-pin IDE port can also support DiskOnModule (DOM) IDE-based flash disk.

• Embedded OS Support : The NS Geode platform supports the popular embedded OS including Microsoft WinCE, embedded Linux, QNX, VxWorks and other popular embedded OS for the industrial embedded applications.

• Long Term Supply : Not as 486 and 586 based systems, the NS Geode is the SOC (System On Chip) solution. The feature makes LE-540 free from the storage of the CPU, cache SRAM, video memory and other material. In the other word, the LE-540 can be supply as long as the NE Geode chipset.
